Pictures of Lexi

I went in today for an ultrasound and Lexi had moved head down. Hooray! Unfortunately, the rib pain has not gone away and is apparently unrelated to her head being in my ribs (though I'm sure that didn't help). So until this little darling comes out, I guess I'm destined to have aching ribs.

Here are some pictures that the technician took today. She has her arm by her face, but I could see her cute little mouth moving and arms wiggling. Lexi is curled up with her arms by her face and her knees pulled into her chest with her little feet kicking my side. She looks like a sweet little baby. Amazing to think that in about 5 1/2weeks that same little baby will be in my arms!

The ultrasound tech said she was smiling in this one. :) You can see the corner of her mouth by her arm. Her arms are crossed and you can see one is balled up in a fist.
You can see the edge of her nose in this one and her fat little cheeks (which were moving in the ultrasound because she was suck and breathing in and out)

Profile shot!
Her hands are balled up in a fist.

Here she is curled up. Her arms are crossed and on the left bottom part of the picture is her knee touching her elbow. She's curled up with her legs up by her chest.
Here's another one with her eye and nose.
Here you can see both her eyes and her nose. She put her fist in her mouth!

Her hand with four little fingers showing.

One of her feet! It's about 2.2 inches long.

34 Weeks and Lexi's Bedding

34 Weeks

I love that shadow on my back and behind...it makes my bottom look bigger. Yuck!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How far along are you: 34 Weeks

Total Weight Gained: 26

Maternity Clothes: Almost all maternity. I still wear some regular dresses and flowy tops

Sleep: I bought a fabulous pregnancy pillow called the Snoogle. I love it and it has helped me get more comfortable. I still wake up a lot in the night to go to the bathroom, then have a hard time falling back asleep.

Gender: It's a girl! We can't wait to meet Ms. Lexi in less than 6 weeks.

Movement: She is a wiggle worm. Right now she is breech, so her head is up in my ribcage. I get really sore from her being wedged up there all day, especially when I sit for too long.

Food Craving: It's more that I miss certain foods and can't wait until I can have them again. Like SUSHI!!! I'm getting to the point where I can't eat much food without getting really bad indigestion, so I am really not wanting to eat much.

What I Miss: Being skinny

Symptoms: Indigestion and my fatigue has started to come back. With school starting this week I'm just going to tough it out, but I'm sure when I get home all I will want to do is rest.

Best Moment this Week: Getting to visit baby Mason. I can't wait for Lexi to meet him.

This week we also got Lexi's bedding in. It's so cute and really makes the room start to feel complete. Here is a couple pictures of it. The colors look a little different on the camera than in person, but you can get a good idea of what it looks like.

Here's an up close pic of the owl fabric

And here are cute alphabet cards I ordered off Etsy. I still need to get two frames to hang them in, but they are SO cute and match the nursery colors.

Baby Minium is Here!!

After much anticipation, my friend Deanna delivered her sweet baby boy last night. He weighed in at 8 lbs and 10 oz. She was induced yesterday at around 9:30 in the morning and delivered around 7:45. She was such a trooper throughout the whole labor and delivery. I only hope I can be as brave and calm as she was! He's still waiting for a name, but it will either be Luke or Mason. This little angel is sure to be one of Lexi's future BFF's!

Nick held the baby also when we visited and was fascinated by his teeny little hands and fingernails. It was cute. It really made it hit home as we held him that in only 7 short weeks it will be us holding OUR baby girl. What a miracle! Congrats Deanna and Mark on your new little bundle of joy. We are so happy for you both!

Longview Shower

The Hostesses and I

Nick and I had such an awesome time at our last shower in Longview. It was hosted by Nick's sister (and soon to be aunt and MOMMY) Courtney, Nick's aunts Wendy (or Gigi as Lexi will call her) and Sissy, and his cousin "Aunt" Emily. We can't wait for our sweet baby girl to be here to meet all of the amazing family and friends from Longview. My mom and I traveled down for the shower and stayed in Longview Friday night. On Saturday we arrived at Nick's parents house. The shower was beautiful, with adorable decorations (pink and green to match the nursery). It was thrown in the middle of the morning so there was delicious food served for brunch. Courtney made the most AMAZING quiche...it was too die for! Wendy made some yummy cupcakes (my favorite dessert) and crafty Emily whipped up a precious diaper cake and homemade banner with Alexis's name on it. Nick loved getting to help open up the presents and share in the fun. We are so blessed to have such amazing family members and had a wonderful time celebrating Lexi's upcoming arrival with everyone!

The Guests

The dogs (minus Kobe who was not lurking by the door). They wanted to get to participate in the action, but they had to settle for watching through the windows.

The dogs after the shower. They are worn out!

Dallas Baby Shower...2 Weeks Late!

Grandmas, Mommy and Baby Alexis! Love this pic!

I am finally back home after 2 weeks in Houston. I forgot to bring my camera and pictures home with me so the blog isn't getting an update until now! So sorry. On July 16th, I had a baby shower here in Dallas. My sister, Meagan, my friend Kristen and my Aunt Margaret and mom all helped coordinate the awesome event. It was beautiful...it truly surpassed anything I could've dreamed of. They worked so hard to think of every little detail, from decorations to activities to food! I was worried about the shower being in the summer, because so many people are traveling or out of town, but many family and friends were able to attend. Here are a few pictures from the fantastic event. Thanks Meagan, Kristen, Aunt Margaret and Mom for all the prep work I know you had to do to get ready...you did an awesome job! I did not do a great job of getting pictures during the shower (except Donna graciously took pics while I was opening gifts). I have lots of the decor and of family before the shower, but didn't do a good job getting pictures with all of the guests. I'm just thankful someone thought to grab the camera, so I at least got a few pictures during the shower!
Cutie decor...the diaper wreath is to hang on the hospital door, the diaper cake in the center of the table looks like a flower pot. The favors were flower pots with seed packets and a vinca planted in them. On the fireplace mantel there was a banner that said Alexis and a swirly letter A (borrowed from the nursery)
Some family pics: I was so grateful that so many people traveled to Dallas for the shower! My mom traveled from Houston, my Aunt Margaret came from Freeport, my Aunt Kathy from Shreveport and Nick's mom and sister, Carolyn and Courtney were in from Longview. Also Meagan's mother in law, Diane came in from Houston along with my cousin Michelle and her adorable girl, Cassie. I was so thankful to have so many family members there...it wouldn't have been the same without them.
A few photos during the event...sorry Erica. Didn't mean to catch you with your mouth full. One of my past students Natalie even got a chance to come with her mom Gina. I love both these ladies so much! It was fun to have some past parents, wonderful friends and family all gathered together. Even though the heat index was 105 outside, I was blessed to have such a wonderful shower! Coming soon..a few pics and highlights from Nick and I's final shower in Longview.
