Happy Thanksgiving

Nick, Lexi and I just returned from our Thanksgiving trip to Longview.  We have so much to be thankful for this year.  What wonderful blessing we have received!  I can't believe that this time last year we had only just begun talking about having a child of our own and one year later we have the most amazing daughter in the world and can't imagine our life without her.  We had a great Thanksgiving with Nick's family and Lexi loved spending time with her Nana and Papa.  We also had the chance to take some cute family photos for Christmas cards and I snapped a few of Lexi in her Santa outfit!  Tomorrow I am headed down to Houston with Lexi to visit my mom and dad for a week before I go back to work in December.  I am NOT looking forward to leaving Lexi but I am so lucky I have had 12 weeks at home with her.  It's going to be a hard transition back to the working world, so I plan to take advantage of these last few weeks I have at home with her.

Aunt Margaret and Uncle Bobby Visit Dallas

'
We were so excited to have my Aunt Margaret and Uncle Bobby come up to visit us in Dallas this last weekend. Lexi was so excited to meet her aunt and uncle. She loved playing and cuddling with them. It was such SPECIAL family time together.  They have both played such an important role in my life and I can't wait for Alexis to get to know them more!  We plan many trips to the coast in our near future to visit their house in Jones Creek.

Here I Grow

Lexi is growing like a weed. At her one month doctors appointment she weighed 7 pounds and 12 ounces. She had gained 21 ounces in 16 days. She's been eating like crazy and is outgrowing all of her newborn clothes. It's bittersweet packing up some of those little newborn outfits and remembering 5 weeks ago when we put her in them and they seemed HUGE. Also her big milestone of the week was that she started smiling. She has only done it a few times but it literally melts my heart! Here are a few pictures of our baby at one month!
